Computer Club

Computer Club is open at lunch times on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Topics taught include - according to appropriate student levels:

- Kidpix - mouse manipulation and a beginning animation program
- Kahootz - an advanced animation program
- Google Earth - mapping skills
- Google Maps - get directions skills and location and mapping skills
- Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 - PSE6 - manipulation of photos, applying filters, resizing, saving correctly for school and for web use, cropping, enhancing, working with layers, digital scrapbooking
- Internet safe use
- introduction to safe blogging practices
- typing skills
- research skills
- PowerPoint Presentations
- Publisher for class newsletters

Try this typing tutor! This is the program in use for 2010 when students have access to the Computer Lab for a double seesion each week, and on a regular basis in the classroom.

Computing Activities

Typing tutor


Smartboard, is used as an interactive whiteboard for many of the teaching activities. Worksheets are scanned instead of being photocopied. Children then do the work orally and in their work books, instead of gluing in the photocopied workheet.


Adobe Photoshop Elements is used to teach resizing of pictures, filtering with effects, working with elements of photographs to combine two or more pictures together and to enhance and improve pictures.


Kahootz is an animation programwhere students make Xpressions based on themes worked on in class. Students manipulate worlds and images to create an animated learning activitity which can be placed online.
